Israel is a nation filled with nascent tech startups. In fact, Tel Aviv has more startups per capita than anywhere else in the world, earning it the reputation of being the Silicon Valley of the Middle East, prominently known as Silicon Wadi across the globe. The combination of world-class technological educational institutes and extensive investments into the research and development of state-of-the-art technology has made it a hotspot for innovation in new tech. Reportedly, an average of six hundred new startups is established every year in Israel with a strong presence of various multinational R&D centres, including the Big Five—Google, IBM, and Apple, to name a few.
Today, Israel has the most mature tech ecosystem by far. Additionally, right after the United States and China, Israel has the most public companies listed on the tech-heavy NASDAQ exchange. Speaking of which, the Israeli tech-sector is a remarkable success story, enjoying a period of consistent growth over the years. As Israel becomes the first in the world in R&D investment and venture capital investments as a percentage of GDP, StartupCity’s editorial board had started assessing and shortlisting the lynchpin amongst startups in Israel.
